Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) is a type of display used for digital clocks and many portable computers. The LCD display uses two polarizing materials, with a liquid crystal solution between them. When an electric current passes through the liquid, it causes the crystals to rearrange, preventing light from passing through them. Therefore, each crystal is like a shutter, allowing light to pass through and blocking it.

2. Passive matrix type can be divided into twisted nematic type, super twisted nematic type, and other passive matrix driven LCD displays;

3. The active matrix type can be roughly divided into two types: thin-film transistor type and two terminal diode type.

In terms of the scope and level of application of liquid crystal display technology, active matrix drive technology is mainly based on thin-film transistor (TFT) and is mostly used in notebook computers, animation, and image processing products. At present, pure matrix drive technology mainly focuses on twisted steering columns (TN) and super twisted steering columns (STN), with applications mainly focused on document processors and consumer products.
